Being a part of EMI means being a part of an extended family. The people we work with are all motivated to make a difference, to change lives, and to have a monumental impact on the world. You’ll cry together, sweat together, live together, and most importantly, leave a lasting effect on communities in need.
MEDICAL/DENTAL PROJECTS:
EMI has served in both Guatemala and Haiti, which require short-term visits (7 to 10 days) by volunteer medical teams. Currently, EMI’s major focus is Haiti, where EMI is preparing to operate a clinic in the Croix-des-Bouquets suburb of Port-au-Prince.
We are looking for medical and dental professionals, including: doctors, dentists, nurses, nurse practitioners, dental assistants, hygienists, pharmacists etc.

We always need people on these teams to work alongside the medical professionals and assist in crowd control, distribution of food and supplies and many other important jobs.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:
Recently, EMI served in Guatemala, where the volunteer team did the plumbing for the washrooms at an elementary school. In several Central American countries there are ongoing construction needs, whether it’s building a feeding centre, or a medical clinic. This requires volunteers who have construction skills – at any level. If you can wield a hammer or help mix cement, we could use your help!
